Metal Machine Music
Long ago, before Zoids was taken off the air, Don (Thats me!) and Jay explored the realm of zoids on the internet. After a brief stint at a rather abysmal zoids RPG, Jay and I took it upon ourselves to create our own Zoids website. Originally Metal Machine Music started as many fan sites did. We worked off a free web account at Geocities. Jay did all the coding work, well I faciliated the actual RP of the site. Eventually we teamed up with another member of the zoids community named Dave. The three of us, working with what limited materials we had, created a semi-succesful geocities based zoids RPG, with a free message board. At the time this was more then enough to handle our needs, but as the site grew, so did the technical needs of our site, and we were forced to move. In what now seems like a blur of activity, we created a new site layout, found a new server and a licensed message board, and made our move. We were stepping up from a simple fan site to an unofficial RPG zoids site. We had massive bandwidth capacity, and a very sophisticated message board to play with. We didn't relieze it then, but this was just the first step in our path to becoming the largest Zoids RPG on the net. Well...its been two years since that first move. Metal Machine Music is now three years old, we've had massive events, tournaments, and exceeded our original dreams of just have a silly little fan site. We had a community now, and it was nay impossible to get into the world of Zoids on the internet without hearing our name. Today Metal Machine Music spans more then 800 active members, and nearly 3,000 lifetime members in total. We have over 300,000 posts in our forum, and at our peak in the summer we often average over a thousand hits a week. We've become what every fan can only hope for. We're a part of Zoids now. Along with other sites like Phenotypes, we supply the Zoids Community with entertainment, a place to come and discuss your hobbies in a safe and friendly setting. At three years old, Metal Machine Music is still going strong. The pure strength of our community, and the dedication of the sites staff and followers will keep Metal Machine Music alive long into the night. We were the first here, and we will be the last here. When all other Zoids sites, fan and official alike are long dead, we will still push forward into the future. | ||||||||||||||
